sculpture ~ metal works
That iron was the favored material Ben-Zion chose was no accident, for throughout his life he admired its properties beyond that of gold or silver. He became enamored of seeking out old hand-wrought iron tools and implements, incorporating many of these found objects into his sculpture. A lighter side emerges from his iron pieces: the nimble figures and abstractions he constructed clearly express his sheer delight with this material, exuding playfulness and humor.
